As many of you would be aware International Women’s Day was on the 8 March. This event was a timely start to what was an incredible week of events happening globally in support of gender parity. Women all over the world were celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Our speaker Catherine gave us an in-depth insight into what women have contributed throughout history in both the world of art and commerce. Visual Artist, Rosalind shared her processes and the meaning behind her creative projects with an illustrated talk on how she began ‘writing with a needle’. As the creator behind The Stitch Lives of London, Rosalind emphasised that her project is about people. It tells the stories of those who have lived and worked, lost and loved within this wonderful city of ours. It’s a modern day Bayeux tapestry retelling ordinary events in an extraordinary way. She would love to stay in touch and hear your stories Rosalind Wyatt | Artist: Text and Textile | LinkedIn.
